SPAK prosecutor, Vladimir Mara, in a press conference, gave details about the police operation where a criminal group distributing narcotics in several European countries was destroyed.
In his speech, Mara stated that the group operated from Syria in several other countries in the EU, including Albania, were involved in drug trafficking. Among other things, the prosecutor stated that from this action, 20 arrest warrants were implemented, including a policeman, and another citizen involved in this criminal group was declared wanted.
“In summary, after the information received by the Albanian police in cooperation with the Italian authorities, we destroy this criminal group.
During this investigation, the criminal activity that operated from Syria, Turkey, Albania, Milan, Greece and other European countries that trafficked narcotics was documented.
All members of this group have been identified. There are 21 members of this structured group, including the Florence prosecutor, Europol, the Albanian state police and other law enforcement agencies.
As a result of our request, 21 security measures of arrest and imprisonment were imposed, where 20 were put in handcuffs this Tuesday and one was declared wanted. A police officer for the criminal offense of corruption, various vehicles, luxury vehicles, mobile devices, etc. were seized. All seizures were carried out in Albania and three cases in North Macedonia, Greece, and in Milan cases followed by us”, he said.
