A plot of cannabis, consisting of about 500 seddlings has been discovered this Thursday morning in a public property in the village of Ashtë of Shkodra, along the banks of Drin river.
According to the police, the narcotic plants were found during drone controls, carried out in the framework of the police operation coded “Ashta”. A small part of the seedlings was seized as material evidence, while the rest was destroyed by burning.
Meanwhile, the police is working on the identification of the author, and the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution for further actions.
“Services of Vau i Dejes Police Station, in cooperation with the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section of DVP Shkodër, as a result of drone controls, carried out within the police operation coded “Ashta”, have found in the village of Ashtë, Shkodër, along the banks of the Drin River, an open area (public property), where about 500 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa seedlings were planted in cubes.
Investigative structures of DVP Shkodër and those of the subordinate police stations continue the investigations, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Shkodër, with the aim of identifying and arresting the author(s) of this criminal activity”, stated the police announcement.
