Not even a week has passed since David Wisner’s departure from the mission in Tirana, the next US envoy arrives in the capital, who will be charged with work at the US embassy.
She is Nancy Van Horn, a career diplomat who joined the US Foreign Service in 2007. This Monday, Van Horn was received by President Bajram Begaj, from whom he received the first congratulations for starting his duties in Tirana.
The head of state has expressed the belief that during her mandate, the strategic partnership with the United States of America will be further strengthened. In the first meeting, Begaj emphasized the reform in justice, strongly supported by the USA, since its establishment and now with its implementation.
Ms. Van Horn’s most recent assignment is that of Spokesperson for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, coordinating messages for more than 40 embassies in Europe.
