After the approval of the constitutional amendments in the Assembly, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has issued a statement to the media together with the allies. Basha said that, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the deputies have violated the Constitution. He said the changes are unacceptable as they violate 5 th June Agreement.
Basha said that the opposition will continue their battle to protect the free vote and that their coalition is with the citizens.
Citizens do not have openlist. The lists are open only from the end, because Edi Rama rejected our proposal to openlist 100% and not to affect the coalitions.
Never before in our 30-year history of pluralism Constitution has been changed unilaterally and without the consensus of the opposition. Never before in 30 years, a prime minister has so brutally put his personal interest above the interests of all Albanians./abcnews.al
