Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha held an online meeting with EPP President Donald Tusk and senior EPP representatives.
Donald Tusk stressed out that the 25th April elections are crucial for the country, while expressing confidence that the leader of the Democrats will realize the country’s integration into the EU.
On the other hand, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, thanked Donald Tusk for the support, while adding that the Democratic Party is committed to pave the way for Albania towards the European Union and that nothing can stop the desire of Albanians for change.
“It is a great responsibility for the Democratic Party and for me tomorrow to be at the helm of the most pro-European people in the world and to be part of a political family that dominates the European Union today. I know we have a lot of work to do together to turn the challenges we face into success.
So we worked for visa liberalization, a very complex process as you know very well as the Vice President emphasized during my last conversation with him, that there was a lot of skepticism from the member states but we made it a reality. Together we made it possible, as we did with NATO membership.
EPP President also appealed on citizens to vote for change in the 25th April elections.
He further stated that the government should enable free and fair elections, and not use pressure on people to disrupt the elections./abcnews.al
