Candidate of the “Together We Win” coalition, Fredi Beleri has won the mandate of the mayor of Himara in the May 14 elections, although he was arrested on vote-rigging charges.
According to the local media, Beleri won by a narrow margin to his Socialist Party (SP) opponent, Jorgo Goro. Meanwhile, his supporters have started to party for the victory outside the premises of the counting center.
Nevertheless, Beleri is in prison as only a few days ago he was caught in the premises of a bar together with two other people who were suspected of making promises and giving money to buy votes.
