Economic growth in Albania for 2022 was 4.84%. This is what the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, said this Friday during a press conference.
Ibrahimaj noted that growth has mainly been registered in the construction and tourism sectors. According to her, the reconstruction process is continuing at a fast pace, as she added that the number of foreign citizens visiting Albania has increased.
Among other things, the minister underlined that incomes increased by 13.8%, while the official unemployment rate decreased to 10.8%.
“The growth of the tourism sector has also had an impact. Compared to 2021, the sectors directly related to tourism increased by 10.12%, while the turnover with those industries directly related to tourism, had an increase of about 40%.
In 2022, 7.5 million foreign nationals entered, compared to 5.7 the year before. If we compare it with 2019, we have an increase of 1 million foreign citizens. The progress of economic activity has been influenced by the progress of income.
Total revenues during 2022 have increased by 13.8%. The level of unemployment for the 15-64 age group has been slowing down from year to year”, Ibrahimaj underlined.
