schedule 14:56 - 4 Maj, 2023

This Thursday, the Joint Committee between Albania and Azerbaijan met in Tirana, whose focus was on economic, technological and industrial developments. The Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said that the cooperation between the two countries is early, especially in energy issues, to which Azerbaijan has made a key contribution.

Among other things, Balluku said that another topic that was discussed was that of civil aviation. According to her, now it’s the time for Albania and Azerbaijan to have direct flight lines, as this is a joint request of the two governments.

“I had the pleasure today to have in Tirana the joint committee between Albania and Azerbaijan, in terms of economic, technological and industrial developments. With the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we have an early cooperation in terms of all energy issues and the support we receive from the government of Azerbaijan, but today the conversation was quite constructive and the two-party committee reached some conclusions that then were signed in a protocol between the two groups.

It must be said that the energy field is definitely the one that has the greatest interest between the two parties, taking into account the important projects we have such as the gasification of Korça or the expansion of the TAP consortium, liquid gas in the triport port of Vlora and many other projects important that we have been communicating with the public for a long time.

But, on the other hand, in the field of agriculture, but also in the field of education and culture, we can cooperate in all the ways from the exchange of experiences to mutual support between the two countries were discussed.

Meanwhile, it should be taken into account that another area of interest between our two countries is that of transport, with a main focus on civil aviation transport. So, civil aviation was one of the issues we discussed today as a direct line between our two countries, between the two capitals Baku and Tirana is a request of both governments.

It must be said that this committee was established at a very important moment in the 30th year, so we are already celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and Azerbaijan, and at a time when our relations are very intense and in the framework best of these 30 years.

I would like to leave the floor to my colleague and definitely in the future we will have the opportunity to address all those steps that will be taken, since with the signing of the protocol today, the concrete work for the realization of everything that we undertook and we engaged today at the common table.
