Tirana Prosecutor’s Office has demanded 20 years of imprisonment for the former police officer Nevaldo Hajdaraj, for the murder of Klodian Rasha. While, the court accepted the request of Nevaldo Hajdaraj’s defense lawyer for summary judgment, reducing the decision to 13 years and 4 months.
Hajdaraj is accused of “deliberate murder”. He claimed in his testimony after the event that he was threatened by Klodian Rasha. According to him, Rasha had pulled something out of his belt and was holding it pointed out towards the former policeman.
The murder of Klodian Rasha brought a strong social reaction, especially in Tirana. Numerous citizens have come out in protest, regarding the execution of the young man at midnight.
The Rasha family’s apartment was visited by Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as President of the Republic, Ilir Meta. The leader of the Democrats, Basha, also reacted to the event, while the incumbent Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, resigned.
The street where the young man was killed got its name, “Klodian Rasha” street. The decision was approved by the Municipal Council of Tirana./abcnews.al
