Census of population and housing in Albania will start on September 18. The director of INSTAT, Elsa Dhuli, explains that about 7 thousand people will be employed for this process, while the total cost is expected to be 16.9 million euros.

The collection of information will be done by going to each house. If a citizen refuses to be part of the population census, penalties ranging from 50 to 100 thousand ALL are foreseen.
The collection of information will be done electronically and will last for 6 weeks.
The 2023 Population and Housing Census will be the 12th Census, since Albania was declared an independent state in 1912, while the first census was carried out in 1923. /abcnews.al
