An employee of the National Library, is confirmed positive with Covid-19. While ther 2 employees have showed symptoms of coronavirus. The result of these two employees has not been made known but on the other hand, has started the disinfection in the premises of the small Library but also in the Central Library, the halls and the premises around it.
The National Library also has its 100th anniversary where there were many participants. The director of the National Library, Pirro Misha was not present at this event, but the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti was present, while the employee from the National Library was only one, due to the latest situation of the pandemic.
The circumstances of how the employee of the other Library was infected are still unknown,while the epidemiological investigation is still ongoing. We emphasize that in the interior of this building, in one of its halls, was held a conference for the 100th anniversary. The conference was attended by library staff, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the media.
Meanwhile on Friday the activities took place in other premises. An exhibition was also held in the lobby of the National Historical Museum with the participation of the staff of the National Library and the National Historical Museum. The library has been closed for 4 months, and has been open only in the first week of July, but then has been closed again due to fear of infection.
The National Library is one of the institutions with high risk of infection due to the numerous books and contacts. Meanwhile it has been learned that the library staff has reduced the staff while some of them have continued to work until today.
