The Interior Minister, Sandër Lleshaj, is an official visit to Italy, where she met with the Italian Minister of Interior, Ms. Luciana Lamorgese.
Minister Lleshaj presented the progress made by Albania in the fight against organized crime, sequestration of crime money, as well as the work of apprehending the wanted persons for the sake of justice in the two countries.
The Italian Interior Minister praised the work and results of the Albanian side and on this basis, emphasized Minister Lamorgese, ‘Italy supports increasing projects for Albanian Police for training, capacity building and striking force.’
After the meeting, where the Director of the Criminal Police Department, Tonin Vocaj, was also present, Minister Lleshaj stated that:
“With the Italian Interior Minister we discussed about the European perspective of Albania and about the level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
We were pleased to find that the level of bilateral cooperation between Albania and Italy is quite high, but also the prospect of its development is great.
We identified important areas of cooperation, such as the fight against organized crime, the fight against trafficking, illegal migration and other topics.
In general, I can tell you, and I can say with pleasure, that the cooperation between Albania and Italy has a new perspective and I will soon be waiting for a visit to Tirana,of the Italian Interior Minister ”.
This visit to the Albanian capital is expected to take place early next year./abcnews.al
